Thankful

It’s that time of year again.  We look around and take inventory of our life.  We all agree that life is way too fast.  We wonder, what has happened?  It used to be much easier.  Now it seems that we fight for brief moments with our children, often too tired to really get involved.  It almost seems that sometimes we are simply surviving life, not living life.  Our pastor once said, “when you go home at the end of the day…go home.  Focus in on what God has placed before you and don’t check out when the family needs you to check in.”  Wow, did we need to hear that.  We all find ourselves in a spinning cycle at different times in our lives.  The good news is that God wired us up to be passionate towards our loved ones, even through the eyes of exhaustion.  We are wired to give all for nothing in return, but sometimes our minds don’t agree.  God has promised peace, love, mercy, compassion to those that show peace, love, mercy and compassion.  We all need to learn how to give what we need.

When we look around this Thanksgiving season, let’s make sure that we are focusing in on what we see.  A blurry picture is not much to look at, but when we allow God to help us focus in on our true blessings….our precious children….everything changes.  We pray that God blesses you this Thanksgiving holiday and that you are truly thankful for your God and your family.
