Welcome to the Lighthouse Academy of Fredericksburg, the Fredericksburg Region’s oldest private Christ-centered school. Started in 1981, the Lighthouse Academy provides superior education, tucked inside a Christ-centered environment, to over 100 children each year, ranging in ages between 2 and 12. All of our Head Teachers are Montessori certified, have excellent experience and are additionally trained by the Director/Owner/Head of Curriculum Stacie McClung.

The Montessori approach is excellent because it actually makes the most sense. Every child is different, so we have created an individualized curriculum to meet his/her needs inside of a social environment. It’s like home-schooling but with an entire classroom full of peers.

Stacie McClung has spent many years working to perfect the environment and the style of teaching to such a degree that every child is incredibly and rightly impacted the first minute they walk in the door. To us, it’s not just about the superior academics, which they all get, but the peaceful and inviting environment that grabs the attention and the focus of the child. That is what makes the difference.

We are a Christ-centered environment that focuses on academic excellence and biblical teaching as a lifestyle, not a religion. We are most interested in assisting the children in making good and sound life decisions for themselves, teaching them Godly principles along the way, and becoming more and more self-directed in their academic pursuit. We are not affiliated with a church, however all of the staff members are.

The founders, Scott and Stacie McClung, are elders at a local non-denominational church called New Life Outreach International. The McClung’s own and operate the school completely hands-on and can be found in the office or in the classroom almost every day. Scott McClung is the Head of School and is responsible for the day to day administrative function of the school and Stacie McClung is the school’s Director/Head of Curriculum and is an Elementary Teacher in the school.

We are always on-call to meet with any family, any time. Your children are the most important people to us and we will do whatever it takes to effectively communicate and co-labor in raising your children. We love what we do and work very hard to make it the best. We are very serious about our call to be a light, a breath of fresh air, to a darkening educational reality in America.
